3 Months Later
Got a new job or better said the internship become profitable. Summer its here and i bought a new AC, that only worked 30 min. Yes after almost 3 hours from the purchase time, the stair, unpacking, the manual and putting the AC to work, it only worked 30 min. The next two months trying to get PC RICHARDS to come and fix the AC. After some exchange of call and two visits of the so call technicians they came to the conclusion that we need a new panel. Unfortunately the PC RICHARDS where not making that panel anymore. So take the ac out put in the box go the PC RICHARDS and exchange with a new one. Come up the stairs, unpack and yes the AC is working.
Great for the Global warming.
Yes the AC was one of the big events this summer and yes the new job (not really profitable), not really great. I NEED A NEW JOB, ANY ONE OUT THERE.

The Farm
"Dr. Jean Beagle Ristaino, professor of plant pathology at NC State and the lead author of a paper describing the research, organic and sustainable farm soils contained more helpful chemical nutrients, had higher porosity and water-holding capacity – reducing the need for watering – and contained more beneficial bacteria that contribute to overall healthiness." Reducing the need for water it is "An important and highly desired characteristic during times of drought".
"Soil with organic fertilizers require less water, an important factor given that predictions suggest by 2025 most developing countries will face physical or economic water.
Chemicals acting as soil nutrients were also more prevalent in sustainable and organic soils, as were tiny organisms that could help suppress soil-borne diseases.
Crop yields on farms in developing countries that used sustainable agriculture rose nearly 80 percent in four years, according to a study scheduled for publication in the Feb. 15 issue of the American Chemical Society journal Environmental Science & Technology.

The Fun Killer
Alc0holism is a silent killer in our societies... Government are concerning about Education, irradiation of poverty or HIV. These are very important issues in society, But we have to start to take in consideration this new or we can say old silent killer.
In some society maybe it is a Taboo to talk about alcoholism, however I think that is very important that this Taboo has to be broken. Personally i know people that surfer from this disease but don't even know. They just think that they are having to much fun. People are starting to drink in a younger age and in stronger types of alcohol. The famous Vodka or tequila, it will kill or destroy the lives of many people in the years to come.
Alcoholism is a social problem, as like all the social problems it affects the society as a whole.

THe 11 hour
So a few days ago, i watch the 11th Hour, a documentary about the 1 hour that we have to save our planet. We just have one hour. The documentary shows, how our human settlement here in this planet, is destructing the planet.
It was interesting to see, how we, people, see the nature separated of us. In reality we are as part of nature as the water and the air. If we are destroying the Nature we are auto-destroying...
But we still have this Hour, to try to change the course of History.
So it is important to me, to create or recreate a sustainable Plan to implement in this 200 hectares that i have(or want to have).
So I'm still researching.
however one thing i already know is that i have to plan trees. it is impressive how much water a tree can storage, and help to prevent floods..

The Plan
So i have been braking my head trying to create a plan that you satisfy both concepts. when i was in high school, we described History as the study of past event so we can understand the present and work for a better future.
As i try to go back in history on thing is constant in the development of a community Agriculture. Since primordial time that we Humans have being practicing agriculture, getting better and more efficient.
This is from the Department of statistic of Mozambique:
Mozambique is essentially an agricultural country. More than 75% of its population live in the countryside, and work in agriculture.
Agriculture, sustainable agriculture is the future in my opinion.
My plan is to create a Agricultural sustainable community. If you are reading and want to help me please leave a comment, write and email.

The curse of the BOX
The box is one of the most dehumanizing tools in our generation. With the box ONE achieves instant satisfaction. The box becomes our parent and our teacher. It teaches us to not live socially or to live in a social virtual world.
How can we care for another ONE, if we do not have any sense of the Social sense.
ONE wants instant satisfaction, that is why the Box production is in the Billions.
If you are a radical, The BOX is pure evil, LOL...
It is important to study the effect of the box in this new society and also the concepct of instant satisfaction.
The Box = instant satisfaction.
Why dehumanization, first what does make us human? There are not a lot of specific trades for human. There are some, but the others we can find in the So called Animal world. The social aspect of human is one of the aspects that separate us from the Animal world.
just a thought: What the animals think about us, "i know you can say that they do not think, but if they did."....look, the so called human are killing all the animal and making the heart a inhabitable place .
So going back to the Box, the new generation the BOX generation does not have any social skills because the box does not teach any social. The box is all about individualism and instant satisfaction. So how will this Box generation deal with the social issues that are affecting the world. Maybe some will but the majority will not.
The Box generation just fell any social issues if it land at their own backyard. Just like in the box, it only if affects the Box, than it is important.

Just
I live in iron jungle, Manhattan. trying to survive and co-habitat with all other organism that surround me. A jungle of individuals and a collective. More times more individualistic than the collective.
We are the one of the only organism that in trying to take care of us and or family, it is manage to create all this mess that we are living in today. All this environmental and social problems.
some one said that you Brain is our gift and our curse.

The 24 hours.
every day that one wakes up, it is a blessing. Everyday that i wake up i am blessed.
The picture was taken by Nunas, in one of 24 hours of ME
I have 24 hours to be happy or to become happy. 24 hours to try not to care about the things that i do not have but maybe think about the things that i want to achieve. It may be the same idea but in a more positive way to see, not what i do not have yet the things that i want to achieve.
24 hours that this capitalism world tries to makes or to turn me into a cold and calculative person.
24 to love my B and to tell her that is ok, to dream and that growing up is hard.
24 hours that i spend of this so called rented body. 24 hours.
in this 24 hours, people will die some will be born. some are happy and some not. everybody is in this 24 hour run with or against time.
One day i will Learn
I Have Learned...
I've learned that you cannot make someone love you.
All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them.
I've learned that no matter how much I care,
some people just don't care back.
I've learned that just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to,
doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.
I've learned that it takes years to build up trust,
and only seconds to destroy it.
I've learned that it's not what you have in your life
but who you have in your life that counts.
I've learned that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes.
After that, you'd better know something.
I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to the best others can do
but to the best you can do.
I've learned that it's not what happens to people that's important.
It's what they do about it.
I've learned that you can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life.
I've learned that no matter how thin you slice it,
there are always two sides.
I've learned that it's taking me a long time
to become the person I want to be.
I've learned that it's a lot easier to react than it is to think.
I've learned that you should always leave loved ones with loving words.
It may be the last time you see them.
I've learned that you can keep going
long after you think you can't.
I've learned that we are responsible for what we do,
no matter how we feel.
I've learned that either you control your attitude
or it controls you.
I've learned that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first,
the passion fades and there had better be something else to take its place.
I've learned that heroes are the people who do what has to be done
when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
I've learned that learning to forgive takes practice.
I've learned that there are people who love you dearly,
but just don't know how to show it.
I've learned that money is a lousy way of keeping score.
I've learned that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing
and have the best time.
I've learned that sometimes the people you expect to kick you
when you're down will be the ones to help you get back up.
I've learned that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry,
but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.
I've learned that true friendship continues to grow,
even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.
I've learned that maturity has more to do with
what types of experiences you've had
and what you've learned from them
and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.
I've learned that you should never tell a child their dreams are unlikely or outlandish.
Few things are more humiliating, and what a tragedy it would be if they believed it.
I've learned that your family won't always be there for you. |
It may seem funny, but people you aren't related to
can take care of you and love you and teach you to trust people again.
Families aren't biological.
I've learned that no matter how good a friend is,
they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
I've learned that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.
I've learned that no matter how bad your heart is broken
the world doesn't stop for your grief.
I've learned that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
I've learned that sometimes when my friends fight,
I'm forced to choose sides even when I don't want to.
I've learned that just because two people argue,
it doesn't mean they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue,
it doesn't mean they do.
I've learned that sometimes you have to put the individual
ahead of their actions.
I've learned that we don't have to change friends
if we understand that friends change.
I've learned that you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret.
It could change your life forever.
I've learned that two people can look at the exact same thing
and see something totally different.
I've learned that no matter how you try to protect your children,
they will eventually get hurt and you will hurt in the process.
I've learned that there are many ways of falling and staying in love.
I've learned that no matter the consequences,
those who are honest with themselves get farther in life.
I've learned that no matter how many friends you have,
if you are their pillar you will feel lonely and lost
at the times you need them most.
I've learned that your life can be changed in a matter of hours
by people who don't even know you.
I've learned that even when you think you have no more to give,
when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help.
I've learned that writing, as well as talking, can ease emotional pains.
I've learned that the paradigm we live in is not all that is offered to us.
I've learned that credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.
I've learned that the people you care most about in life
are taken from you too soon.
I've learned that although the word "love" can have many different meaning,
it loses value when overly used.
I've learned that it's hard to determine where to draw the line |
between being nice and not hurting people's feelings
and standing up for what you believe.

The Brain
the brain is the control center of the central nervous system, responsible for behavior. In mammals, the brain is located in the head, protected by the skull and close to the primary sensory apparatus of vision, hearing, equilibrioception (balance), sense of taste, and olfaction (smell)
I love to think about the brain. It is amazing that when i say i like to think about the brain, in reality is my brain self analyzing and saying that He likes to think about Himself.
For me or for my brain are we one or two. We talk about the brain as talking about another person or identity. It is amazing that the brain is in a self discovering path. The brain is studying it self.
The brain in my opinion is the perfect Democracy. Do you agree ?

Let the Children Play
Me again with some new pictures, If you notices i love to relate what i write with pictures.
This i took 2 days ago in Central Park, a snow day.
It is amazing how much fun you can have with you are child. Does not matter whether you are in Central park or in Tuntudoro park in Mozambique, when you are a child there are no worries. Being a child its the best thing that exist in the world.
It is a shame that some Kids do not have the pleasure to be free as a bird and play as a child should play. However even in extreme situations the child inside of a child always try to come out. You can go to the deeps parts in Africa and you will see a lot of poverty, yet you will see that kids find ingenious ways to enjoy childhood.
“The ability to play is one of the principal criteria of mental health.”
Ashley Montagu
Plays its important not only for us the so called Humans...
Various functional theories of play stress that social play is essential for the practice and learning of sex roles, dominance relationships, troop culture, integration of individuals into the troop structure, the control of aggression, etc. Data on squirrel monkeys (Saimiri) in natural environments indicate that social interaction and troop integration can develop in various manners in the absence of social play.

Children are the flowers that never wilt
Due to poverty and no education Africans believe in traditional treatment. Some believe in One is infected with HIV and have sex with a virgin, One will become free of the disease. Other don't believe in using condoms and by doing this many women get infected in the continent. This mentality in making more victims in Africa.
The government is not doing a great Job, in the case of Mozambique, there is more publicity to tourism in the country them projects to prevent and educate about HIV. Opening more and more Hotels. It is great that the country is growing and that with tourism there will be more money, maybe to help more HIV positive people. However there is a big MAYBE.
Opera opened in South Africa a Million dollar School for kids, How many HIV positive Kids could have had be helped. Not to say that the opening of the school was not a great present to the Kids of the Community, only that sometimes we must start small.
Something that i think that we all should see.
Angels In The Dust
http://www.filmmonthly.com/Video/Articles/AngelsInTheDust/AngelsInTheDust.html
In the documentary on Man says: WE busy during the week, bury on the weekends, sometimes on Saturday i can go to 3 funerals in the one day...I already lost count of how many funerals i have went to since the beginning of this year.
By the year 2010, 100 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa will be infected with HIV/AIDS, and 26 million children will be orphaned as a result of the virus. In South Africa alone, six million adults and children are infected, but the government has turned a blind eye to the mounting pandemic.
No Instructions
I've had this astral rocket more then just a ship. A lot bigger then aquila, or the titanic. I hide it in my basement, I think its been around from the time of cavemen. Though it has technology far beyond that of human intellect. Or that even our greatest scientist can understand. At night while every one dreams, sleeps and is safe in their cocoons. I slip out the room, tiptoe through the house, and delicately. Gently unlock the door. Creep down the stairs so as not to frighten it, it's not just mechanical. More like super biological. When I touch it, recognizes me by slight of hand opens up to me. I enter settle down, we converse not by words tough. That's silly it doesn't speak English. I am not sure what language it speaks. With all its greatness and power, millions of light years travel possible. It does not understand the concept of language. I am not educated enough to explain to it what, language is. Nor religion, nor race or even something as basic as color? I sometimes tell it for a smart ship it is dumb. We talk of places all across our multiverse, of past of present and even of future. It's been there here and every where its shows me of the greatness of the "soul". The essence, I have never told any body of the ship. No one would believe me. It claims its from the future, but I told it that time travel is impossible. Another term it did not understand. It is like a child sometimes, tells me bed time stories. Of racelless faceless and nameless places. Nor currency, for that's only current no need for that if you are immortal. No wars, for the is no great cause but all are one and one is all. United in thought, being, conscious and conscience. One mother to all children, and all children with one mother. All know to love her. I asked ship, one day if we could take all the people on earth. To it's place so we could also be happy. And know what it is to be complete, fulfilled one. It told me no. I asked why not, you care about my people right ? It replied I care for all people. My question unanswered I asked again why can't we take them to that place. Where there is no hunger, no war, no rape no death no politics or race. She replied to me, they are not ready all in all with a process. To know better you will do worst, to enjoy life you will experience death. To appreciate first you must be without. You will struggle and go to your deepest depths first. So you will rise from there to be all you were meant to be. I asked the ship, I know so why can't you take me. She replied you are all my children. I love you no less for being wiser, and I love the others no more for being lost. All will one day one.

The Beach
The Heat is rising, Global warming is already in strong activity.
In Chinas the cold weather his killing people, in Mozambique the heat is higher than Normal....
How can we revert this problem ? Will we revert ?
In the developed world many countries are already trying to go green. The cars becoming more environmental friendly more people are more aware of this issue.
One question, what will we do with the cars that are not environmental friendly. I know you can melt the car and build a new one, a environmental friendly.
But how about the cars in African cities. The cities in Africa are becoming overcrowded with second hand cars, Increasing the emissions of gases.
The African cities are growing but not with an environmental agenda. Even if we fix the problem in the developed countries the same problem is starting in the developing countries
New solutions must be found. More sustainable solution.
But since we are still trying to find the solutions and the heat is rising. What will we do ? In Maputo People fight the heat by going to the beach.....

Homo Sapiens
Today is a cold day 28F, i wish i was in Maputo 82F.
I like to talk about humans, we have forgot what is the meaning of being an Human.
I think that is very interesting that a lot of us(humans) have being trying to find out the meaning of being HUMAN. However, sometimes on the process of trying to become or find out what is being a Human or to connect to the world we go father from the Humans that we trying to become.
Humans are define as "A member of the genus Homo and especially of the species H. sapiens"
THe Filidae is "the biological family of the cats; a member of this family is called a felid" all from the same family but non of them care of each other sometimes they even fight and kill each other.
Homo Sapiens Do the same and we are all from the same family
A quote from Malcolm X....
We declare our right on this earth to be a human being, to be respected as a human being, to be given the rights of a human being in this society, on this earth, in this day, which we intend to bring into existence by any means necessary

The window ..."A Janela"
Arrogacia Humilde of ME
Arrogance:an attitude of superiority manifested in an overbearing manner or in presumptuous claims or assumptions
Humble:not proud or arrogant
My Blog title is Arrogancia Humilde "arrogance Humble", I am both and my challenge is to try to maintain a balance between these both concepts. In the 21st century we can not be more of one or the other.
This is the first time I am putting my ideas out there to the world to see and read. The blog is a way to express all the sides that ONE can have.
I love Pictures so i might Put some of my pictures to the world to enjoy and criticizes( constructive criticisms is the best way i can evolute).
Recently i see my self talking more about the social issues so this maybe a way to get some of my ideas out there and maybe i might find some solution.
One of my main Goals is to Find ways to enjoy life and to help people around me (I am very interested in Economic development)
Change
For the oppressed to be able to wage the struggle for their liberation, they need to perceive the reality of oppression not as a closed world from which there is no exit, but as a limiing situation which they can transform by PAOLO FREIRE'S.
For us to understand and try to change how some aspects of the world work we have to be able to see what Freire's sees, that there is always a way to transform the situation that we are in. The people have to be organized and find the exit for the problem. The situation Feb 5 in Maputo is just a sign that wen the people are push to extremes they will react. IN Maputo the extreme was the rise of the transportation fare. Maputo population must see Feb 5 as a sign that if they unite and react, more issues can be resolved. More demonstration, peaceful demonstration. Like Azagaia said The people is in Power. The people was the power to put the Government in power and this is a point that the people should realized. That they are the ONES that put other people in power. So in a sense they have the power of Change.
There is virtually nothing that can not be changed. it might that time but change eventually comes.
