The Farm

The land is there....I was researching and found some interesting comments about what type of fertilizers one should use. In my farm it going to have to be organic fertilizers.

"Dr. Jean Beagle Ristaino, professor of plant pathology at NC State and the lead author of a paper describing the research, organic and sustainable farm soils contained more helpful chemical nutrients, had higher porosity and water-holding capacity – reducing the need for watering – and contained more beneficial bacteria that contribute to overall healthiness." Reducing the need for water it is "An important and highly desired characteristic during times of drought".

"Soil with organic fertilizers require less water, an important factor given that predictions suggest by 2025 most developing countries will face physical or economic water.
Chemicals acting as soil nutrients were also more prevalent in sustainable and organic soils, as were tiny organisms that could help suppress soil-borne diseases.

Crop yields on farms in developing countries that used sustainable agriculture rose nearly 80 percent in four years, according to a study scheduled for publication in the Feb. 15 issue of the American Chemical Society journal Environmental Science & Technology.

I think its very impressive and important that you want to combine making something sustainable for the people that need this agriculture, as well as for the environment.

Combining these two things is, in my opinion, one of the hardest planning tasks--but I know you will do it.

You want a farm...
Well...i really dont know nothing about this but, i think its a great ideia.
My question is:where do you want it?
Can we plant organic "food" in Mozambique? Have you done that research?
It is true that there is a health problem in terms of sustenance, i can say bluntly that fast food is taking over this country.
But nevertheless more and more people are going to nutritionists because they know that their diet isnt healthy.
But, that stopts there...people with financial conditions. Good food, healthy food is expensive in this country, and even combined diets are expensive.
But anyway...i wrote toooo much..heheheheh
I like your plan...and count me in!!!!!
